Haiku R1/beta6 brings a working Firefox to the BeOS-inspired OS

Haiku R1/beta6, released August 26, 2026, ships Mozilla Firefox in a functional state for the first time. The open-source desktop OS closed over 530 tickets after a two-year gap. Firefox running reliably signals that Haiku's POSIX subsystem and graphics stack can now sustain a complex, externally maintained codebase.
