U.S. Deports Protected Afghan Man to Third Country

On August 30, 2026, the U.S. deported an Afghan man in his early twenties to the Central African Republic, his lawyer Alma David said. A judge had granted withholding of removal to Afghanistan, barring deportation only to that country — not to third countries. The man's brothers aided the U.S. military; the Taliban killed one.
