Turkey and Somalia Free Hijacked Weapons Ship in Joint Raid

Turkish and Somali forces freed the MV Latuf after ten days in pirate captivity off Puntland, killing 14 pirates and destroying four boats. The vessel carried Turkish weapons. The raid operated under a bilateral defense agreement — Ankara's deepest security footprint in the Horn of Africa, now tested by piracy's highest resurgence since 2013.
