Hundreds Missing as Flash Floods Hit Nepal's Hydropower Sites

Roughly 900 people remain missing after August 2026 flash floods along the Nepal-China border struck multiple hydropower projects, The New York Times reported. Soldiers rescued about 100 workers from one flooded tunnel. The Prime Minister's Office said 350 were pulled out, but over 100 remained trapped. The death toll keeps rising.
