
Music publishers sue Anthropic founders personally over AI training data
Sony Music Publishing, Warner Chappell, and others sued Anthropic and its co-founders Dario Amodei and Benjamin Mann individually in the Northern District of California, alleging a "brazen campaign" of illegally downloading copyrighted works to train the Claude chatbot. Naming the founders personally signals plaintiffs want individual accountability for training-data sourcing, not just corporate liability.
