CFTC fines Trump's teleprompter operator for trading on speech content

The CFTC fined Gabriel Perez, Trump's teleprompter operator since 2016, $172,000 for betting on Kalshi prediction markets about speech content from December 2025 to February 2026. The regulator called it misappropriation of confidential knowledge in breach of trust, banned him from trading for three years, and ordered him to surrender $107,539 in profits plus a $65,000 penalty.
