Leaked DLSS 5 halves frame rates in early modder tests

Modders extracted Nvidia's unreleased DLSS 5 neural rendering library from an NBA 2K27 early-access build and tested it across multiple games. On an RTX 5070 Ti, 4K performance dropped from 71 to 35 fps; Final Fantasy VII Rebirth users report similar halving. Nvidia announced DLSS 5 in March as real-time photoreal lighting and materials inference, targeting a fall release.
