
Three Regional Powers Now Treat Saddam Haftar as Libya's Key Military Interlocutor
Qatar's al-Khulaifi met LNA deputy commander Saddam Haftar in Benghazi on August 27, backing UN-led efforts to end Libya's political division. Turkey's FM Fidan and Egypt's defense minister held separate talks with him earlier. All three now treat the younger Haftar as the LNA's main diplomatic contact as rival factions pursue an election pact within 24 months.
