Luxon apologises to affected beneficiaries but won't correct Parliament record

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon told Parliament he was confident no wrongful benefit suspensions had occurred. He declined to correct the record, saying his statement was true at the time, but apologised to affected beneficiaries the same day. MSD told Social Development Minister Louise Upston about the suspensions on 13 August — before she told Parliament none had happened.
