Google to enforce Android 17 per-app memory limits via Play Store in February 2027

Google will enforce Android 17's per-app memory limits through Google Play starting February 2027. Apps that exceed their allocation face runtime throttling, forced process termination, and reduced Play Store visibility. Already active on Pixel devices, the limits scale from 4GB to 16GB+ RAM tiers across manufacturer devices. Google cites industry-wide RAM constraints as the driver.
