
Ratko Mladić, Bosnian Serb Commander Convicted of Srebrenica Genocide, Dies at 84
Ratko Mladić, who led Bosnian Serb forces in the 1992–95 Bosnian war, has died at 84 while serving a life sentence. A UN tribunal convicted him in 2017 of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity for the Srebrenica massacre of over 8,000 Bosniak men and boys. He was arrested in 2011 after 16 years as a fugitive.
