Ratko Mladić, Convicted of Genocide in Bosnia, Dies at 84

Ratko Mladić, who led Bosnian Serb forces during the 1992–95 Bosnian war, has died at 84 while serving a life sentence. A United Nations court convicted him in 2017 of genocide — the deliberate destruction of a people — for the Srebrenica massacre of more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys. He was arrested in 2011 after 16 years on the run.
