Parliament honours Ann Widdecombe as murder charge proceeds

Parliament has put up a portrait of Ann Widdecombe in Portcullis House before MPs return from recess. The former minister died on 8 July 2026, aged 78, from serious head injuries. Joshua Kerry, 28, faces a murder charge. Helen Grant MP called the display "the start of a lasting tribute." A permanent commemoration is being explored.
