Parliament commemorates Ann Widdecombe as murder charge proceeds
Parliament has erected a portrait of Ann Widdecombe in Portcullis House ahead of MPs' return from recess. The former minister died on 8 July 2026, aged 78, from serious head injuries. Joshua Kerry, 28, has been charged with her murder. Helen Grant MP called the display "the start of a lasting tribute to Ann." A permanent commemoration is being explored.
