Devon Swimmer Crosses Switzerland's Ten Largest Lakes to Raise Awareness of PANDAS
Neil Gilson, 40, a former international swimmer from Devon, is the first person to swim all ten of Switzerland's largest lakes — about 370km over two summers. He is spotlighting PANDAS, a rare condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks the brain after infections like strep throat. His son Jack was diagnosed at 18 months. No widely adopted NHS guidelines exist.
