Devon swimmer first to conquer Switzerland's ten largest lakes — to spotlight rare brain condition PANDAS

Neil Gilson, 40, a former international swimmer from Devon, has become the first person to swim all ten of Switzerland's largest lakes — roughly 370km over two summers. He is using the challenge to raise awareness of PANDAS, a rare neuropsychiatric condition in which a misdirected immune response attacks the brain after infections like strep throat. His son Jack was diagnosed at 18 months; no widely adopted NHS guidelines exist.
