Flash flood strikes Nepal-China border corridor again
A flash flood along the Bhote Koshi River killed at least eight people in Nepal's Rasuwa district on August 26, 2026, damaging 430 megawatts of power capacity and severing highways. China reported major casualties in Tibet's Gyirong county. The same trade corridor lost its Friendship Bridge to an identical flood last year, killing nine — a troubling pattern along a vital route.
