National turns to Labour for under-16 social media ban as coalition partners oppose

National needs Labour's support to pass its under-16 social media ban because NZ First and ACT both oppose it. Labour has backed a first reading — the initial vote to send a bill to a select committee for scrutiny. But Finance Minister Nicola Willis said that is unlikely with 11 sitting days left. Labour's Barbara Edmonds wants it done before the election.
