
National needs Labour's votes for under-16 social media ban as coalition partners oppose it
National must rely on Labour to pass its social media ban for under-16s because coalition partners NZ First and ACT both oppose the bill. Labour has agreed to support a first reading, but Finance Minister Nicola Willis said it is unlikely to happen with 11 sitting days left in the parliamentary term. Labour's Barbara Edmonds said the party wanted the first reading done before the election.
