ICE Arrested a Navy Sailor's Father With a Valid Work Permit — Then Released Him 48 Hours Later

Border Patrol arrested Luis Aviles, a Nicaraguan with 19 years in the U.S. and a valid work permit, in Key West on August 23. An immigration judge dismissed his case within hours. DHS and DOJ have not explained either action. His son serves aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, which holds the record for longest uninterrupted time at sea.
