Rohingya Refugees Protest Ninth Anniversary of Myanmar Genocide

Hundreds of Rohingya refugees protested at Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, on August 24, 2026, demanding justice and repatriation (the right to return home). Nearly 1.2 million remain in camps. Myanmar's civil war blocks their return. A genocide case at the International Court of Justice, filed by The Gambia in 2019, remains unresolved. Both the UN and US have formally designated the crisis a genocide.
