
Google and Apple Now Both Offer OS-Level Motion Sickness Mitigation
Google's Motion Assist is rolling out in Android 17, placing animated peripheral dots on-screen synced to vehicle motion via accelerometer and gyroscope data to reduce screen-induced nausea. Pixel devices get it first. Apple shipped the analogous Motion Cues in 2024. Both major mobile platforms now include peripheral-cue mitigation as a standard OS feature — roughly two years from research to mainstream.
