Amazon raised prices across its hardware lineup by as much as 60 percent over the August 22-23 weekend. The Echo Dot went from $49.99 to $79.99. Fire TVs, Echo speakers, Kindles, and Eero routers were all affected. Amazon attributed the hikes to rising memory and storage costs driven by an AI-fueled global shortage, saying it absorbed increases as long as it could.
