Amazon Hikes Hardware Prices Up to 60 Percent, Citing Memory Shortage

Amazon raised prices across its hardware lineup by as much as 60 percent over the August 22-23 weekend. The Echo Dot moved from $49.99 to $79.99. Fire TVs, Echo speakers, Kindles, and Eero routers were all affected. Amazon blamed rising memory and storage costs from an AI-driven global shortage, saying it absorbed increases as long as it could.
