US-funded satellite tracking hub operating at Whenuapai

A Pentagon-funded hub at Whenuapai Air Force base, set up in 2023, tracks Iranian and Chinese satellites for a US intelligence network. Official Information Act releases show it monitored an Iranian satellite launched from Russia and a Chinese satellite near a French one in February. Data is shared with the US National Reconnaissance Office.
