Tropical Storm Moke Threatens Flood-Hit Hawaii as Saturated Soil Raises Mudslide Risk

Tropical Storm Moke is bearing down on Hawaii's Big Island, where 5–10 inches of rain are expected through Monday. The National Weather Service warns of life-threatening flooding and mudslides because soil is already saturated from Hurricane Lala days earlier. Governor Josh Green says Lala caused at least $43 million in infrastructure damage and $4.6 million in home damage on the Big Island.
