Burnham Campaigns for UK to Host 2042 World Cup

Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham is pushing for the UK to host the 2042 men's World Cup. The effort gained momentum after the prime minister told regional mayors at a No 10 North meeting in Manchester he was keen for the tournament to return to the British Isles. The UK last hosted in 1966. A Downing Street source called it a "general ambition," not a formal bid commitment.
