NSW hiker Lily Hooper found dead after eight-day bushland search

Lily Hooper, 18, was found dead in dense Southern Highlands bushland on 20 August 2026, eight days after setting out to hike the Bunnum Pic track from Oakdale, NSW. Her car was found parked near the trailhead the day she vanished. No cause of death has been reported. Steep, thickly vegetated terrain hampered recovery efforts throughout the search.
