Missing hiker Lily Hooper found dead after eight-day search in NSW bushland

Lily Hooper, 18, was found dead in thick Southern Highlands bushland on 20 August 2026, eight days after leaving her Oakdale home to hike the Bunnum Pic track. Her car was found parked nearby the day she disappeared. No cause of death has been reported. The steep, overgrown terrain made the search and recovery very difficult.
