Hong Kong Court Convicts Tiananmen Vigil Organizers Under Subversion Law

A Hong Kong court convicted two former leaders of the Hong Kong Alliance, Lee Cheuk-yan and Chow Hang-tung, of incitement to subversion — pressuring the government through unauthorized political activity — for organizing Tiananmen Square memorial vigils. They face up to ten years. A third defendant, Albert Ho, pleaded guilty in January. Sentencing is pending.
