Labour says government shelved managed retreat report, ignored adaptation inquiry

Labour's Deborah Russell told a climate adaptation conference on 20 August the government shelved an expert managed retreat report from Labour's term and largely ignored a select committee inquiry. Russell outlined a funding framework — beneficiary-pays, exacerbator-pays and public payments — with Chris Hipkins to release full policy 'in due course.'
