Microsoft 365 Copilot Can Now Run Tasks on Its Own

Microsoft has launched Agent Mode for 365 Copilot, allowing the AI to complete multi-step workflows across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams without asking for approval at each step. The system stays within guardrails you set. Rolling out to E3 and E5 subscribers in Q4 2024, this marks Microsoft's shift from helping you type to handling work tasks independently — a direct challenge to Google and Notion's workflow tools.
