Early super withdrawals on compassionate grounds surge to $1.4bn

Tax Office data shows 63,300 Australians pulled $1.4bn from superannuation early on compassionate grounds in 2024-25 — up 40% on the prior year and nearly double the $762m accessed in 2022-23.
