ABC Sues FCC, Alleging Intimidation Over News Coverage
Disney's ABC sued the FCC after Chairman Brendan Carr ordered early license renewal reviews for all eight ABC-owned stations, opened a diversity-practices probe, and sought public comment on whether "The View" qualifies as a bona fide news interview program. ABC calls it an "unprecedented campaign" to intimidate coverage, citing First Amendment violations. Broadcast licenses normally run eight years before renewal review.
