UK Grocery Inflation Drops to 2.1%, Lowest Since October 2024

UK grocery price inflation eased to 2.1% in the four weeks to 9 August 2026, down from 2.6% and the lowest since October 2024, per Worldpanel by Numerator. The rate has more than halved from its 4.3% February 2026 peak. Average household grocery spend fell £14.24 to £410, while promotions covered a 2026-high 31.3% of supermarket sales.
