Wakefield dog-bite death: murder charge reduced to manslaughter

Lee Ellis, 55, faces manslaughter — not murder — after a man died from a dog bite during a Wakefield footpath altercation. Prosecutors chose the lesser charge, which requires no proof of intent to kill. Ellis also faces a Dangerous Dogs Act charge. He was remanded to Leeds Magistrates Court.
