Gore Council spent $8,200 on investigation finding councillor's 'gay' remark not a serious breach

An external investigation into Gore District councillor Donna Bruce for calling a staff presentation "gay" cost NZ$8,200 plus GST, chief executive Debbie Lascelles reported. Investigator James Cowan of Anderson Lloyd found the breach "not significant or serious." Bruce apologised in late June, and councillors voted against formal censure.
