Gore Council spent $8,200 looking into councillor's 'gay' comment — and found it wasn't serious

Gore District Council paid NZ$8,200 plus GST for an outside investigator to look into councillor Donna Bruce calling a staff presentation "gay." Investigator James Cowan found the rule breach was "not significant or serious." Bruce apologised in late June, and other councillors decided not to take things further.
