National Party rule keeps Goldsmith in Epsom, blocks Kaipara ki Mahurangi switch

Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith says a National Party constitutional rule stops him seeking the nomination for the safe seat of Kaipara ki Mahurangi. The rule bars a candidate already selected in one electorate from being nominated in another for the same election. Goldsmith is National's selected candidate in Epsom. He said he "momentarily" considered switching but would stay.
