CrossPoint Reader firmware adds Libby and DRM ebook support to Xteink e-readers

CrossPoint Reader, a free alternative firmware for Xteink's X3, X4, and X4 Pro pocket e-readers, now supports DRM-protected ebooks through a beta plug-in called "Protected Content." The plug-in uses Adobe Digital Editions DRM via the firmware's built-in web server, enabling access to Libby borrows and Kobo purchases. A free ByteBooks account authorizes the device; browsing and borrowing still need a companion phone or computer.
