CrossPoint Reader firmware adds Libby and DRM ebook support to Xteink pocket e-readers in beta

CrossPoint Reader, a free alternative firmware for Xteink's X3, X4, and X4 Pro pocket e-readers, now handles DRM-protected ebooks via a beta plug-in called "Protected Content." The plug-in enables access to titles borrowed through Libby or purchased from retailers like Kobo, using Adobe Digital Editions DRM through the firmware's built-in web server. A free ByteBooks account authorizes the device. Browsing and borrowing still require a companion phone or computer.
