Bragg backtracks on 'substandard homes' comment after code-cutting pitch

Liberal senator Andrew Bragg corrected his RN Breakfast reply of "yes, definitely" to whether Australians should accept substandard homes. Bragg had proposed slashing the National Construction Code from 2,000-plus pages to 80 and making energy efficiency standards voluntary. He says he misheard. Shadow cabinet hasn't signed off on the plan.
