Cambridge Professor Jason Arday Found Dead After Sustained Abuse

Jason Arday, Cambridge's youngest-ever black professor, was found dead at his Battersea home on 14 August 2026, aged 41. Police are not treating the death as suspicious. He had resigned the prior week amid unproven plagiarism allegations. His family says he faced sustained abuse since his 2023 appointment. Mayor Sadiq Khan called him a victim of "pernicious public shaming."
