NASA-Funded Teams Spread Across Three Nations to Study the 2026 Total Eclipse
NASA-funded teams are deploying instruments across Greenland, Iceland, and Spain to observe the August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse. By staging at multiple sites along the eclipse path — which crosses the Arctic, North Atlantic, and Iberia — researchers can study the Sun's corona, the outer atmosphere visible only when the Moon fully blocks the Sun, and extend observation beyond what one location allows.
