Reservoir raises $8M to turn heat-pump water heaters into a grid-balancing fleet

Reservoir, backed by an $8M seed, says its connected heat-pump water heaters can ease grid strain locally. The plan: aggregate installed units into utility demand response programs, soaking up surplus renewable energy and scaling back during peak demand. About 100 units are deployed; 1,000 are targeted by end of 2027.
