Tui profits fall 43% as Iran war and cost-of-living pressures bite

Tui, Europe's largest travel group, reported a 43% drop in pretax profits to €153m for April–June 2026, down from €267m a year earlier. The Iran war cost €60m, including €40m to repatriate customers and from two cruise ships stranded at the Strait of Hormuz for 12 weeks. Customer numbers fell 3% to just under 10 million. Tui confirmed its EBIT outlook as summer bookings recovered.
