Thailand Halts All Gun Licences After School Massacre

A 14-year-old used his grandfather's legally owned firearm to kill his grandparents and six others at a Nonthaburi school. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul responded by suspending all gun licences — including those already issued — and ending the "welfare gun" scheme, which subsidised firearms for civil servants. He also ordered stricter gun-control legislation. Thailand has among Southeast Asia's highest gun-ownership rates.
