Thailand Suspends All Gun Licences After Teen Kills Eight in School Shooting

After a 14-year-old killed his grandparents and six people at his Nonthaburi school using his grandfather's legally held firearm, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul suspended all firearm licences — including existing ones — and halted the "welfare gun" scheme subsidising firearms for civil servants. Thailand has one of the region's highest gun-ownership rates. Anutin also ordered tougher gun-control legislation.
