Egypt Truck Crash Kills 18, Mostly Child Labourers Aged 10–14

A pick-up truck crashed on 11 August 2026 in Al-Dawawis, Ismailia governorate, killing at least 18 agricultural labourers. A hospital source told AFP most were children aged 13–14; the youngest was 10. Egypt's Health Ministry reported 47 total casualties, including about 30 injured, treated in nearby El-Kassasin. The workers came from Sharqiya governorate villages, employed on an Ismailia farm.
