
Egypt Truck Crash Kills 18, Most of Them Child Labourers Aged 10–14
A pick-up truck carrying agricultural labourers crashed on 11 August 2026 in Al-Dawawis, Ismailia governorate, Egypt, killing at least 18 people. A hospital source told AFP most of the dead were children aged 13 and 14; the youngest was 10. Egypt's Health Ministry reported 47 total casualties, including about 30 injured, treated at a hospital in nearby El-Kassasin. The workers were from villages in Sharqiya governorate, employed on a farm in Ismailia.
